ABOUT OUR TEEN FILMMAKERS BOOT CAMP

This 5-day (Mon-Fri) ‘filmmakers boot camp’ provides teens (ages 13-18) with the opportunity to produce short narrative films under the mentorship of professional filmmakers. Students will pitch a story, write a script, scout locations, audition and cast professional actors, as well as direct, produce, edit, and market their film to be screened at Digital Gym Cinema.

 

During this 30-Hour Production Challenge, students will gain experience in:

  • pre-production
  • scriptwriting
  • storyboarding
  • shooting with DSLR cameras
  • lighting techniques
  • audio recording
  • shot composition
  • working with professional actors
  • location scouting
  • marketing
  • using professional video editing software
  • and MORE!

 

Each camp culminates with a screening at our Digital Gym Cinema to showcase their work for family and friends.

 

Dates:

Session 1: June 18-22

Session 2: June 25-29

Session 3: July 9-13

Session 4: July 16-20

Session 5: July 23-27

 

Schedule: Monday – Friday 9:00 am – 3:30 pm

 

Cost: $235 Member /  $275 General

Refund/Cancellation Policy:

There are no refunds for camps. For 100% credit, cancellation is required one calendar week in advance of the start date of camp. Credit is valid for one year. Media Arts Center San Diego may at times need to cancel classes due to low enrollment, at which point a check reimbursement will be issued (minus 10% for credit card processing fees). MACSD will confirm cancellation via email.

MACSD is not responsible for providing refunds or offering makeup sessions for camps missed as a result of illness, emergencies or events beyond the student’s control.
