Breaking the Commandments: Pre-Code Hollywood – Double Feature: Baby Face (1933) and Night Nurse (1931) (March 3)

March 3, 2019

Pre-Code Hollywood refers to an era in motion pictures from the arrival of sound in the late 1920s to the mandatory enforcement of the Motion Picture Production Code in July 1934. This series focuses on films made between 1930 and 1934 and highlights how openly suggestive some of these films were and how blissfully defiant they were of the Code authority (that defiance, however, would bring on more forceful self-censorship that would last well into the 1960s). Presented by the Film Geeks San Diego.
