UCSD Critical Gender Studies Program will kick-off it’s FREE monthly film screenings at the Digital Gym November 20th @ 7-9pm!
Expect a night full of CRITICAL thoughts,
QUEER futures, and
FLIRTATIOUS imaginings with RADICAL movements
Main act: ALL of you!
Second act: Afro-futuristic clips featuring Pumzi (2009), a Kenyan Sci-Fi Short, Jazz (2014).
Third act: Panel discussion with Peggy Piesche, a literary and Cultural Studies scholar who’s work is centered in Black European Studies.
Fourth act: Free food reception
Goal: UCSD Critical Gender Studies is looking to partner with local community/grassroots organizations who fight for social justice and liberation. We will lead discussions through art and film at the Digital Gym in hopes of creating a larger conversation thorugh arts and activism in San Diego.
