Teen Producers Project (Intro to Documentary Filmmaking)
January 27- April 14, 2018
The TEEN PRODUCERS PROJECT (TPP) teaches teens the basic principals of documentary filmmaking while producing 2-3 minute digital stories. Students will learn basic lighting techniques, storyboarding, camera skills, and how to edit their projects in Final Cut Pro or Adobe Premiere. (ages 14-18) **Showcase screening: [April 21st] @ the Digital Gym Cinema **
Schedule: Saturdays from 10:00am – 2:00pm

Advanced Teen Producers Project (Narrative Filmmaking)
January 27- April 14, 2018
The advanced TPP class is designed for teens who already know the basics of filmmaking and want to take their skills to a new level. Instructed by a local film professional, the advanced class plans, produces and edits a short narrative film. This class guides students though the process of creating a short narrative film. Write a script, scout locations, audition and work with professional actors, learn advanced lighting techniques, advanced editing techniques, and more! Since 2001, the Media Arts Center San Diego’s Teen Producers Project has been inspiring youth to be more than consumers of media as they become creators of media. Through our programs, hundreds of youth throughout San Diego County and Orange County have learned about filmmaking and digital storytelling and have produced engaging video projects. The project’s mission is to educate youth in media arts & emerging technologies for use in self-expression, communication and social change.
