CINEMATHEK
About CINEMATHEK
CINEMATHEK is a year-round screening series presented by Pacific Arts Movement (Pac Arts) and Digital Gym Cinema (DGC), launching in April 2025. Inspired by Pac Arts’ early Film Forums, CINEMATHEK offers members and the public year-round access to curated screenings of classic, cult, and newly restored Asian and Asian American films. Hosted at Digital Gym Cinema, CINEMATHEK strengthens community ties, builds new audiences, and celebrates the best of Asian cinema in one of San Diego’s last remaining venues for independent and international films.
Organization Background
Pacific Arts Movement (Pac Arts) transforms and connects audiences with the human experience through Pan-Asian media arts. Founded in 2000, Pac Arts presents over 170+ films annually through major events like the San Diego Asian Film Festival and Spring Showcase, reaching audiences across San Diego County and beyond.
Our mission goes beyond exhibition: we create critical spaces for intercultural dialogue, celebrate artistic innovation, and amplify underrepresented voices in the media landscape. Digital Gym Cinema is San Diego’s hub for independent, international, and emerging cinema, providing a welcoming space for filmmakers, film lovers, and education.
