Join Medium Photo and Digital Gym Cinema on July 16 for a special double feature celebrating two visionary artists who expanded the possibilities of photography through color, fantasy, and personal expression.

The evening begins with WOMAN WITH CLAWS: The Peculiar Photographs of Paul Outerbridge, a documentary exploring the life and work of the pioneering color photographer whose innovative techniques and provocative imagery challenged artistic conventions of his era.

The program continues with THE QUEER REVERIES OF JAMES BIDGOOD, a vibrant portrait of the artist behind the cult classic Pink Narcissus. Featuring rare footage and interviews, the film explores Bidgood’s enduring influence on photography, filmmaking, and queer visual culture.

Filmmaker Wolfgang Hastert will be in attendance alongside collaborators Paul Jennings and Larry Ashton for a post-screening conversation about the films, photography, and the creative worlds of Outerbridge and Bidgood.

A perfect lead-in to San Diego Pride weekend and a rare opportunity to experience two fascinating stories from photographic history on the big screen.
